Anti-terra is an ongoing photo-novel that develops and explores an alternative earth.
Anti - Terra attempts to narrate its many stories using associative and aesthetic (as opposed to reportage-style) means. At the same time the project attempts to create a world rather than recreate it, in spite of the 'objective' nature of the photo-medium. Importantly, what's captured in the photos is indeed the 'objective world' as none of them have been altered in post production beyond the simple darkroom adjustments. The project draws predominantly on the genres of mise-en-scene type portraiture and city-scapes. The type of place this is, the narratives that will occur here and the persons that live here are not yet defined as this is a life-long project for Kravchenko only in its infancy. Exhibited are the introductory photographs of this world that provide some initial insights, moods and questions.
